FOUNDER & OWNER

Terry ‘Bluez’ Raper is an award-winning film director and the owner of Black Gift Media. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served two Gulf War deployments, an experience that instilled discipline, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose that continues to influence his work today. Following his military service, Terry pursued higher education, earning a BA in Communications and an MFA in Film, sharpening both his technical expertise and creative voice.

He went on to work in higher education, teaching film and media and mentoring aspiring storytellers before transitioning into broadcast television as a sports and lifestyle journalist. Eventually, Terry brought his experiences together to launch Black Gift Media, where his unique journey from military service to academia to journalism shapes his storytelling approach and enables him to help clients bring their stories to life with authenticity, clarity, and impact.
